Simple Process

How It Works

No apps. No tickets. No meeting points that require a map and a prayer. You pick a route, you show up, we walk.

01

Pick a Route

Five neighborhoods, five different nights. Read the descriptions. Pick the one that sounds like your kind of chaos.

02

Book

Email us at yo@osakaxplore.com. Tell us which route, how many people, and your dates. We'll confirm within 24 hours.

03

Show Up

Meet at the designated spot at the start time. We'll be there. Look for the person who looks like they know where they're going.

04

Walk + Eat

We walk. We stop. You eat what you want. You pay as you go. The walk ends when it ends. No schedule pressure.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable shoes — we walk 3-5km
  • Empty stomach — you'll want to eat at every stop
  • Cash — many places don't take cards
  • Camera — the neon is worth it
  • Curiosity — the best thing you can bring

What NOT to Expect

  • No hotel pickup — meet us there
  • No fine dining — this is street food
  • No karaoke — we walk and eat
  • No English menus — we translate
  • No refunds if you're late — we start on time

FAQ

Is it safe at night?

Osaka is very safe. Safer than most US cities at 2pm. The only thing you might lose is your tolerance for spicy food. We've never had a safety incident in 3 years of walks.

Do we eat at every stop?

We visit 3-4 food spots per route. You eat where you want. No obligation. If you're not hungry, don't eat. If you're starving, order everything. It's your walk.

Is alcohol included?

No. We don't sell alcohol. Some stops serve beer or highballs if you want to buy your own. We don't encourage heavy drinking — you're walking 3 hours and need to stay upright.

What if I'm vegetarian?

Osaka street food is meat-heavy. We can accommodate partially, but options are limited. Most broths are meat-based, most fried things contain meat. Let us know in advance and we'll do our best.

How far in advance should I book?

3 days minimum. We keep groups small (max 6) so slots fill up. If you're flexible on dates, we can usually find something. If you need a specific date, book early.

What if it rains?

We walk rain or shine. Osaka in the rain is actually better — the neon reflects on the streets. Bring an umbrella or buy one at any convenience store for ¥500.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Both guides speak fluent English. We also speak enough of everything else to order food and not get yelled at.
